Team up with other backpackers and use minibus charter to explore Australia at leisure
A must destination on the backpacker route in Australia is the Outback around Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territories.
The coastal city on the Timor Sea has a cosmopolitan reputation and a tropical climate and is the ideal starting point for coach hire Darwin to the most famous parts of the Outback.
Ayers Rock, or Urulu to give it its Aboriginal official name, is perhaps the most famous location to visit. It is located in the middle of Australia, in fact very close to the actual geographical centre and is 443 km (275 miles) from Alice Springs by road.
Uluru is naturally grey, but the iron content of the rock is "rusting" at the surface, resulting in the distinctive red iron oxide coating.
SouthWest of Alice Springs is the Kings Canyon, the biggest attraction inside Watarrka National Park, where there are walks leading along the canyon floor as well as up to the rim and around the full length of the canyon.
Most backpackers visiting Australia spend some time in Sydney and teaming up with others to charter a minibus can make exploring the city and the surrounding areas such as the Blue Mountains and the National Park at an affordable option with the option of exploring at your own pace.
No visit is complete without a trip to Bondi Beach, which is actually a suburb of Sydney that offers sun, sea and surf. 'Bondi' or 'Boondi' is an Aboriginal word meaning water breaking over rocks or noise of water breaking over rocks. The beach is backed by attractive parkland, and it is also a popular place amongst walkers, rollerbladers, skaters and cyclists.
To the north end of Bondi Beach is one of Sydney's Aboriginal sites and there are aboriginal rock carvings within the golf course there.
Brisbane is another location where mini bus charter can be useful. The capital of Queensland on the East coast of Australia is a hub for a wide variety of activities.
North-west of Brisbane lies the D'Aguilar Range, which includes Brisbane Forest Park. Hidden within this 28,500 hectare natural bushland are remote gorges, expanses of subtropical rainforest and scribbly-gum woodland and prolific birdlife.
Roughly 7km southwest of the city centre is Mt Coot-tha Reserve, an expansive bush and parkland area peppered with picnic spots and walking trails. The name comes from 'ku-ta' meaning honey, and this is where local Aboriginal people would come to collect the rich nectar produced by the native stingless bee.
A must-see is the lookout at the top of the mountain that brings spectacular views of Brisbane – on a clear day you can see all the way to Moreton Bay in the east and the Glass House Mountains to the west.

Educational trips in Australia’s Cities are Easy with Coach and Bus Charter
Understanding their country’s history, heritage and environment is part of the study curriculum for any student and very often this will mean field trips to the areas around the school or college.
Coach hire Brisbane will make it easy to get students to such experiences as following an Aboriginal art trail through the bushland in Mount Coot-Tha Reserve as well as providing an opportunity to spot native wildlife.
At the foot of the mountain there are a tropical zone, rainforests and Japanese gardens to explore at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens.
History and culture is all on offer at the Queensland Cultural Centre on South Bank, where students can see the skeleton of a Queensland dinosaur in the Queensland Museum and the work of famous Australian artists in the Queensland Art Gallery.
For Australia’s wildlife, take students to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, just a short drive from the city centre. There they can get close to koalas and meet possums, kangaroos, wombats, emus and lyrebirds.
Sydney and its surrounding areas provide a huge variety of learning opportunities that can be made easily accessible with the use of a charter bus.
The Blue Mountains, for example, offers a wealth of educational opportunities that includes the Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens, home to more than 5000 species of plants from the cooler parts of the world. About an hour from Katoomba are the Jenolan Caves, one of the finest and oldest cave systems in the world featuring underground rivers and incredible formations, perfect for studies of geology and geography and related subjects.
Younger students might enjoy a trip on the Zig Zag Railway, which departs from Clarence Station and weaves its way into the Lithgow Valley through the Blue Mountains’ scenery.
Perth, in Western Australia straddles the Swan River and although it is one of the world’s most isolated capital cities, it is also well supplied with sporting and music venues. A charter bus in Perth will get students to and from sporting fixtures as well as music events and festivals but also provides educational opportunities in the neighbouring coastal city of Fremantle, home to two museums, the Maritime Museum and the Round House.
Underneath the Round House is the Whalers’ Tunnel, originally built to provide easy access between the original Bather's Beach port and the town of Fremantle. The tunnel has been restored in recent years, and now has detailed explanations of its construction, and local artefacts.
